Poor Misunderstood Mr. Semi-Formal

My first post! Yay! I really can't wait to write more. Anyway, it's already 11:03pm here in Cairo and I am bored, seriously bored. Do you guys know that feeling when you are like ''Omg I can't wait''? Well, That's my feeling right now.

What can't I wait for? It's one of my best friends' birthday party, this Thursday. As I received the invitation, only one thing chocked me 'Dress-Code: Semi-formal/Casual'. I thought 'Forget the semi-formal! I am wearing casual' but backed up again. I mean...What if everybody wore semi-formal outfits, won't I look weird? Yes!

The first image that jumped up in my mind of a semi formal outfit is a fancy light-colored gown, a hat and may be white gloves. I went to my mom and  I was like 'Mom, K's (Let's just pretend her name is K) birthday party's dress-code is semi-formal!', 'Dear and what's wrong with that?' was my mother's answer.

Thanks to my mom and Mr. Internet, I found out that I was misunderstanding the term Semi-formal my whole life! Do you believe it? So I went on my computer and typed on ask.com© 'What's semi-formal'.

The first sentence that caught my eye was 'Semi-Formal dress-code means that no longs gowns are required'. Right then I understood that the birthday-girl was being nice but still wanted her princess-party. She didn't want to be mean, write 'formal' in the invitation and make you buy a (new) long gown if you didn't have one.

Conclusion: Semi-formal means that you can wear a gown if you want, a suit if you want or anything you want as long as it's classy. I've found my outfit! Huray! I ended up with a light-pink silky top with a V dentelle-ed collar, light-blue skinny pants, a grey ballerina and a matching grey clutch. Nice, right?
Next time you receive an invitation to a party and the dress-code turns out to be ''Semi-Formal'', don't freak out like I did and run to you mom thinking that you have nothing to wear.
Chill and wish me luck!
